I thought You Wrote It, You Watch It was good; I could see the potential, which was realized! As Jon Stewart shot to fame shortly afterwards, and The State got their own show, which led to something else, which led to lots of other things, and even more things.
I know, none of the State members are in that video. Here’s the only other one I found. I can immediately pick out Thomas Lennon (near the end), as well as… okay, I’m going to have to look his name up… the actor who plays “Artie, the Strongest Man… In the World!” on The Adventures of Pete and Pete. Toby? Yes. Toby Huss.
OMG! The creepy professor lady from Buffy the Vampire Slayer is Zosia Mamet’s mother!
Professor Maggie Walsh, along with “Adam,” were two of my LEAST favorite characters on Buffy. I also really really disliked “Glory,” but possibly because the acting for that character was so so so bad.
As for the show Girls… I kind of liked it the first season. But it has nothing going for it, anymore. Maybe, all the girls should become slayers……….
I was aware of the, err, heavy borrowing of Fosse for the “Single Ladies” dance. But, "Mexican Breakfast" doesn’t have all those… THIGHS! I’m particularly enamoured of Ashley Everett (the dark red hair in this live performance. It’s all about hair today!) Some people just have that magnetism and charisma that can’t be ignored.
Who teaches you about Bob Fosse, if no one teaches you about Bob Fosse? I recently made some post, saying something about “that Jackson choreography.” I didn’t know MJ stole his fashion and moves from Bob Fosse. Home schooling myself.
