It’s crazy when you become an adult (by law if not by mental state), and then other people become adults, too.  Like Sindri Eldon, whose parents are Björk and Þór Eldon.  He’s like 27.  He’s a man now.

Ugh, I just slept and slept…  Probably for 12 hours.  It’s almost 1pm.  Then I got online, and started going to Peaches Instagram, as I would usually do.  :(

Peaches

I’m from the US, but, the way it happened, I think, is…  back when a particular American girl was in the European news a lot for possibly murdering her flatmate, I followed a link to a story about her in The Daily Mail.  From that point forward, I guiltily pleasurably read The Daily Mail.  Have I really been reading it for seven years?  The crime occurred in 2007.  Shit!  Well, anyway, somewhere down the line, because she was also featured in the Mail quite a bit, I became acquainted with Peaches Geldof.  I was a little too young in the 1980s, to have known much of her, via her mother or father.

I found myself checking Peaches’ Instagram every day!  I don’t have an Instagram (or a smart phone.)  The only other person’s Instagram I’ve checked on a regular basis, is Ariel Pink.  I guess it always felt pretty random, that I was checking in on Peaches Geldof and her family.  But her sons are so cute, and she seemed like a wonderful mother.  I checked that Instagram religiously…  one of the first three or four web sites I’d look at, every day.  I woke up this morning, saying “Narny!” in her voice.  I got on her Instagram, as usual, and I saw a bunch of “RIP” comments.  On a video she posted yesterday, one I’d watched several times…  It was the first I’d heard Phaedra speak an actual word!  ”No.”  Of course, it seems like foreshadowing, now.  ”No, mummy, don’t leave.  No, no, no, no, no.”

I don’t have that many people to talk to, much less other Americans who followed Peaches.  So…  I’m just…  trying to distract myself, I guess.  I went on a walk.  it’s a really nice day, weather-wise, where I live.

Oh, hey, Ariel! What did you pack for that train trip you took last year? Oh! I… think… I see.

I don’t have the antidote to racism or other prejudice/bigotry/etc.  I just keep seeing people be like “don’t forget the one time this person said that one thing!”  I mean, so, acknowledge it, and try to educate the person.  But, if you never forgive them for saying that one thing, then you aren’t letting them not be racist.  You’re not letting them learn and grow and change.  Ugh.  This racistism makes me nauseous.

But, change is a process, and *I* have to give it the space, in the same way that racistists need to give racists the space.

Outkast, “Roses”

I think I’ve posted this before, but this is a better quality video.  And, for some reason, some of the content seems different to me, but it’s probably not.  i guess it was just time to watch this again.
